Hi, I’m April Barnes, and I’ve been a professional photographer since 2018. Photography has always been more than just a job for me, it’s a way to document life’s precious moments, capture authentic emotion, and share the world through my eyes.

I specialize in photographing people, pets, and places, from family portraits and senior sessions to branding, events, and lifestyle photography. I also have a love for nature, capturing flowers, trees, and the beauty of everyday spaces.

A little about me: I grew up in North Texas and, after years of living in different places for college and my career in Expatriate Management, I’ve called East Dallas home since 2012 and I truly believe it’s the best part of Dallas.

Photography is not only my passion but also my way of connecting with my community, with nature, and with my own family. After the heartbreaking loss of our beloved David, I’ve learned firsthand how powerful images can be. A single photo can transport you back to a moment in time, evoking not just the memory but the feeling and essence of that season of life. That belief guides everything I do with my camera.

When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll often find me playing outside, enjoying music, laughing with loved ones, or simply soaking in the healing energy of nature.

Most of all, I’m grateful to do work that allows me to support my family, connect with others, and help create meaningful keepsakes. I’d love the opportunity to co-create beautiful images with you, photos that reflect your story, your people, and your life.
